It’s the much-celebrated time of the year again, but for some (or most), the gift-giving season means tedious times especially on planning what gifts to give to the VIPs in your life – including your valuable clients.
Before deciding on what to give to clients, consider the following first:
Find out if their company is accepting gifts. Check corporate policy to avoid putting your efforts to waste. Make sure you follow their guidelines in gift giving.
Select quality presents. Choose quality above anything else. You wouldn’t want your gifts to break easily and be discarded.
Take note of your client’s personality, interests, and lifestyle. Gifts that are tailored to client’s interest will feel more personal and will be appreciated very well.
So what can you give your clients? I have samples classified according to gift types:
1. The Gift of Sweetness
Nobody can resist chocolates. There’s a huge variety available in the market, but be sure to choose divine ones. Try to select premium, artisanal chocolates for a unique and well-thought-out touch to your present.
2. The Gift of Travel
Does your client practically live in a suitcase? Give her a travel pillow or a pretty passport/travel document holder as a present this year. Every time she travels, she might remember you as someone who make things very convenient.
3. The Gift of Health
Health is important. In fact, it should be one of the most essential things that we should take care of. Sending your client a basket of fresh fruits for the holidays sends a message that you care about her well-being.
4. The Gift of Relaxation
Everybody is doing so many things, and your client is definitely no exception. Create a spa box and stash it with essential oils, facial masks, body scrubs, and artisanal soaps. Your client will surely thank you for easing up some of the stress she has and for putting her on a heavenly state.
5. The Gift of Music
If there’s anything that can lift moods quickly, it must be music. Give your client a portable speaker that he can use in his office or on his vacation and be remembered when his spirit is high.
6. The Gift of Power
Being able to connect to your business and work anywhere is empowering. Allow your client to have more flexibility and mobility by giving her a reliable (and lightweight) power bank. She will be grateful for the freedom it brings and might want to work on more projects with you. 😉
7. The Gift of Giving
The spirit of Christmas is about giving, and what better way to celebrate this with clients than to let them give to those in need. Why not send them a Kiva card, which allows your clients to help people alleviate poverty by lending to small entrepreneurs around the world. Or give them gifts that come from social enterprises, and support local products and communities.
Gifts, especially for clients, need not be flashy and pricey. Let’s go back to the real meaning of gift giving: make it thoughtful, meaningful, and heartfelt. Everyone will surely appreciate that.
