What do you do first thing in the morning?
It’s pretty all well laid out for me out of habit. Before I even open my eyes, I say a prayer for gratitude and guidance.
As soon as I get up from bed, I drink warm water to replenish and wake up my metabolism. I do my non-negotiable morning meditation and 15-minute-a-day exercise as well.
What’s your day like?
I make it a point to learn something fresh and new everyday. Whether it be about tech, fashion or home improvement, I research and talk to my peers and mentors.
To sum my day up, It’s a mix of active and productive. It’s about home errands, work, exercise and socials.
How did you find your passion?
It takes a little push and a strong persona. I’m always into following my heart even when the odds are against me.
I always believe in the concept of hard work- the more challenging it is to attain, the more deserving you are of what you dream of.
What was the inspiration for Shoephoric and what are your dreams for it?
Shoephoric started out from my love for shoes, I initially had this idea to create an online shoe organizer and everything just happened spontaneously.
My friends loved it which led me to bring it to what it is now- a community, a marketplace accessible via web and mobile. The latest addition is an app downloadable via the Appstore.
Another part of Shoephoric is OTOS (One Town One Shoe)- it’s Shoephoric’s advocacy program aimed to improve the Filipino cobblers’ means of livelihood into something more rewarding. It’s a part of our vision to push their craft to a wider market via our online efforts and vast network.
What was the biggest challenge you faced and resolved in your business?
It’s actually a cycle. Launching a new product or service- you’ve got to find your early adopters who will be impressed enough to use, share and promote your labor of love to a bigger, more mainstream market.
Arriving at your tipping point is the biggest challenge of them all as you are supposed to think of more ways to constantly deliver with the quality you are known for, and stand out from your competitors as well.
